A review from Melanie K.-W. I’ve had the 10j for a few years now & it’s a great chair. So easy to fold & unfold. A wheelchair that is good on rough paving, small gravel etc so I go everywhere with it. Buses & trains also the woods. It works well in the rain providing you keep the joystick dry with a waterproof cover. A comfy chair too. I can’t fault it as well as the after service BPDP provide.(Facebook 06/09/2021) |

A review from Deb H. What a fantastic experience! P.came to us from Staffordshire via Littlehampton to demonstrate this fantastic folding chair. Really impressed with it and with him. No pushy salesman, no bluster or bullying just a lovely chap popping in for a chat. A real pleasure to find such good , honest and comfortable service. Well done and thank you. By the way, we bought it on the spot!....(Facebook 01/09/2021) |

A review from Sammie T. My sister and both have a folding electric wheelchair. They have changed our lives. They’re lightweight enough for two people to pick up and put in the boot of your car, my brother can pick them up on his own. They fit in the boot of a small car (we have the Renault Captur). If you can afford one, it will be the best decision ever. X(Facebook 30/08/2021) |

A review from Nancy H. A month ago I bought an electric wheelchair from them. I had a home demo, and then Shaun, the owner, came back a fortnight later to demonstrate it for my son. I bought a chair and it had a fault. It was replaced immediately without delay or quibble. The chair is wonderful and has changed my life. ...this company is not one of them. I have never had better service, and the chair is amazing. If you call the number, I am sure you will easily sort out any issue....(Facebook 09/08/2021) |

A review from Hilary S. much more robust than others in same price range... I tried several models before settling on a product from this company and the price was comparable with lot similar chairs available but this one is far more sturdy, some of the ones I tried I did not even feel safe in.(Facebook 10-12/08/2021) |

A review from Julie P.O. I have the purple chair. It's really easy to store and transport. I booked a demo and after a test drive I purchased one. I have had it a few years now and still going strong - though it is not used daily. I have no regrets buying this chair and would recommend it to others.(Facebook 07/07/2021) |

A review from Andy Ellis Hi BP4D just a short message to say how happy I am to have received and now using daily my f19 22inch wide power chair. It now means I can goto the shops without calling a taxi or my wife to take me there. The chair it's self is as strong as ox and yet still nimble as a fox. I would definitely send friends and family to BP4D if they required there services. All the best BP4D keep up the good work. Yours Andrew Ellis |

A review from Sue King I'm delighted with the J10 chair Shaun delivered to me yesterday - in Surrey! He took the time to recomend the best chair for my situation and got in 100% right. BP4D stocks some of the best powerchairs on the market and while they are not the cheapest they are undoubtedly the best quality and will last for a long time. If you are not sure that a powerchair is the right piece of kit or are unsure of spending the money talk to Shaun and you will get sound advice.Sue King Caterham on the Hill, Surrey(Google 02/06/2021) |

A review from Mal J. My husband is an amputee and not mobile at all. The arms lift up so he can slide onto his bed and the foot plate lifts up out of the way. The company will come round and let you try the chair to see if it suits you. If not, then don’t buy it. It’s the best thing we’ve bought in years. (Facebook 06/05/2021) |

A review from Fiona S My husband has just bought his second wheelchair. It is exactly the same as the previous one because it suits him (and me - no more pushing a wheelchair and I can lift it into the boot) so well. Shaun and his wife are such fabulous people and are efficient and friendly. Thank you for enabling us to lead a good life getting out and about. ❤️(Facebook 25/04/2021) |

A review from Stewart W. After 5 wonderful years with my 10J I contacted Shaun to replace it. Excellent prompt service. My original chair was woefully treated by me as I took it upon all sorts of rough ground. It clocked up over 100K in flights being thrown into and out of holds. As a result I felt confident in replacing it with another 10J. Whichever you choose you an count on Shaun to give magnificent after sales service. (Facebook 08/02/2021) |

A review from Peggy P. I purchased a scooter from Shaun that really fits the bill. It breaks down into smaller ‘liftable’ pieces to get into any reasonable sized car boot. What I particularly like about it is it doesn’t really look like a mobility scooter having the control and steering on a bicycle type handlebar. It even has a bike type bell. Versatile enough to turn in very tight spaces. Good suspension with ‘springs’ on the seat support bars. Had mine over a year now, still not seen another one like it! (Facebook 14/04/2021) |

A review from Julie G. So I have finally accepted that I need an electric chair. I can just about manage indoors if I hang onto furniture and stuff but only for a few minutes. Until now I have been pushed around by my hubby in a small wheeled chair because I cant self propel as I have a clawed hand. Its essentially paralysed and has been for almost a year now. I went to BP4D and I’ve ordered one thats completely adjustable as I cant sit bolt upright and need a slight recline, also I’m quite small and It will be able to be made to fit. I’m not sure how I feel about it now, I’m quite nervous because I hate to be the centre of attention and don’t want people watching, especially whilst I learn to control it properly.... I’m sure I will come to love the independence again (Facebook 05/03/2020) |

A review from Mrs J Poole. 5.0 out of 5 stars Great buy!! Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 13 November 2019 >This is my first electric wheelchair and so far I have found it to be a fantastic product. It's easy to use, folds down quite compactly and feels sturdy & safe when using. It's good value for money and has better specifications than other products in the same price bracket. I'm really pleased with the chair! (Amazon) |

A review from Emma B. ... my hubby has a Nhs provided wheelchair that costs the NHS about £9000 and is non collapsible meaning he can’t go away for a day. We bought one of these wheelchairs and it has been great. Allowed us to go away in the car with him and now can go on holiday much easier. We have had ours for a year and a half and it’s been great. May Walls my hubby has one of the electric ones at 26 kg and I can lift it in myself although is a bit heavy but doable. (Facebook 03/12/2019) |

A review from Peter E. My wife has one in purple..yes,it was dear but the freedom this gives us is excellent. Easy to get out and put up..I've had prams more complicated...28 Kg weight so I can fold, pick it up and store in the boot in under a minute. It has a 20 mile range and can go so fast I have run alongside before now..controls are very sensitive and easy to use. Simple to check on battery power and simple to charge up. Our old one was so heavy, runs on two car batteries and needed ramps and a lot of skill to fit into the boot...and no way could I ever pick it up. These chairs are brilliant and service is too class. (Facebook 25/10/2019) |

A review from Fred D. .....it would appear so but may I assure you that Shaun Atkinson does have a disability but it is not apparent. Shaun is one of the most disability aware people I have ever met and his commitment to people with disabilities is not confined to his wheelchair business. I have one of these chairs and although not perfect is really good and has made my life so much better. I have taken it on buses, trains airplane and ship. It also fits into the boot of my car. It is heavy but extremely manoeuvrable. Hope you don't mind me posting this, but Shaun is well qualified to be in his post on fb. (Facebook 14/11/2019) |

A review from Emma C. Shaun was very helpful when he came to demonstrate. He also bought a selection of chairs for me to try. I’d had my mind set on a 06J but after trying it decided on the 10J as it felt more sturdy. I gave it a good run out yesterday and it was fantastic at getting up slightly raised curbs and brilliant at going up a steep hill. Shaun is also very good at giving help if you need it. I have messaged him a couple of times over things he did tell me but I forgot and he always responds in a couple of days if not straight away. My brother can lift the chair on his own into the car but my mum and I lift it together. I love the fact that it fits inside the boot without having to put the back seats down, which means I can now go out with the family. (Facebook 15/09/2019) |

A review from Sharon P. I’ve had my J10 for over 6 months and I wanted to give it a good test before I wrote a review. I have been a wheelchair user for 10 years and I feel it’s extremely important to be able to read unbiased warts and all reviews on any chair you’re contemplating buying. Chairs are a big investment and you can fall into the trap of buying something totally unsuitable (I speak from bitter experience). I arranged a demo and Shaun arrived at my home with a chair. He’s a lovely guy I didn’t feel rushed or pressured to buy in anyway. I went on a test run which went ok. I’m used to a mid wheel drive but I got the hang of driving this quite quickly. Shaun answered all my questions and was very knowledgeable about the chairs. I decided to buy one. I chose a pink one and Shaun went above and beyond to make sure I got it within a week. My first trip out with it was to Skegness, then London. It handles well and is great for travelling on the train. I’ve had to tweak a few things to make it comfortable enough to spend most of the day in it and a good cushion makes all the difference. This really is a very good chair. It’s sturdy and the batteries can go on all day. Going round London sightseeing all day wasn’t a problem. The charger isn’t cumbersome and there’s a bag underneath to keep all the bits and pieces in. It’s pretty easy to fold and unfold and fit into the boot. It’s light compared to my other chair but it still needs a bit of muscle to lift it. If you’ve not driven a power-chair before give yourself time to get used to it. Overall I really like this chair. A couple of things to be wary of though. I found it started to runaway on some slopes that weren’t particularly steep be especially careful on drop kerbs when crossing roads. Some pavements that are cambered can be difficult to negotiate. For the most part though it handles well and I would recommend it. (Facebook 18/09/2018) |

A review from Wendy W. Just want to add these chairs are amazing and i mean amazing, i have been with Better Products for Disabled people for over five years, now on my second chair, has i had completely worn my old one out, its been every where seaside, stately homes ,country parks, on and off buses. I have recently got a new car with hand controls (i am a double above knee amputee) i have the rooftop box and my chair is the 1st in the country to go in a rooftop box, yes a power chair that goes in the box with no problem ask for a homw demo, you wont be disappointed (Facebook 04/09/2019) |

A review from Rebecca V. We bought one of the wheelchairs for my daughter who is 17 and has CP. It is absolutely amazing. It holds its charge for ages, simply folds up and pops easily into my boot. A review from Wendy W. These chairs are fantastic, I am a above knee double amputee and these chairs give me so much independence, I would never look anywhere else, Shaun is a brilliant man and he looks after you from day one, never let's you down,ps my chair from Shaun is also the first chair in the country to go into a wheelchair topbox so besides having my independence back with the chair I can now drive and take the chair with me on the topbox xx (Facebook 26/08/2019) |

A review from Little M. H. Best thing I brought Shaun was great, he came to my home twice, first for the demonstration and again to deliver. He explained everything to my son and myself and advised which chair was best for me and my surroundings 10/10 for customer service Dont forget to give him a cup of tea and a biscuit 👍 five stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (Facebook 27/08/2019) |

A review from Georgina G. Shaun and his lovely wife explained the different models to me at the home demonstration and I absolutely love the design and ease of use. I've already been out in mine around a huge shopping centre and I had no problems at all, previously I've bumped into everything using scooters, but with the F19-Gold I had the best time ever! Fit into two different car boots and I can't see ever having a problem with it fitting in boots now. Looking forward to using it more! (Facebook 26/08/2019) |

A review from Emma B. I love our one from you. It allows my husband so much freedom and makes life easier going out for the day and on holiday. A review from Katie S.D. Bought my wheelchair over 2 years ago use it for holidays and getting out of the house! It’s a life saver for me given me some independence back... The other day it started to tick and not run right had no issues up to then... but better products are amazing within a week it’s back up and running after needing some new wiring! It cost next to nothing really as you can’t put a price on your independence and what I get from this chair! It feels like a brand new chair. So glad I bought it from a reliable company who continue to support me even after buying the chair! Thank you so much (Facebook-26/08/2019) |

A review from Donna R. 5.0 out of 5 starsWonderful people and service. Life changing product. 15 August 2019 This chair without a doubt, will change my life. I’ve spent forever looking for a foldable electric wheelchair and nothing was quite right. I’ve only managed to see one in a mobility shop and the pressure for a sale was obvious and quite uncomfortable. I stumbled across BP4D entirely by accident and contacted them regarding a demo. As buying an electric wheelchair is an investment and one I wanted to get right. Shaun was in the area and came out to see me later that day. He set up a chair let me have a go in it to see how it felt. He answered all my questions. Nothing was too much trouble. I was nervous about having a home demo Incase , there was pressure for a sale I’m terrible at saying no! But Shaun let the wheelchair speak for its self. You can tell that he’s passionate about his business and his products. I received my new chair today and not only is it foldable and electric, but it’s a beautiful colour too. It’s an added bonus to have a mobility aid that has a range of colours outside of blue, red and black. Bottom line: I’ve sat in a lot of wheelchairs in my life and this is by far the most comfortable and stylish and functional. It’s going to change my life and give me back my independence and most importantly it’s sold by a company that cares about their customers not just their sales. Thankyou so much BP4D! I’ll update this after Leeds festival:) (Amazon 17/08/2019) |

A review from Naomi M. I have this chair, it lives in my car as my second electric wheelchair would need a wav, which I don't have! It's brilliant for hospital appointments, or whenever we go anywhere in the car. I couldn't manage without it. So thankyou!☺️ Plus the bright pink colour makes it even better! (Facebook-22/07/2019) |

A review from Hilary S. I have just purchased one of the models from this Company and they are far better made than a lot of chairs I have looked at at a similar price and Shaun is very helpful and will help you choose right chair for you - no pressure sales so don t hesitate to ask for home visit. A review from Rebecca C. I contacted the company after seeing an advert on fb. They replied on the Saturday and by Monday lunch they were at my home with demonstration chairs. I had a good chat with Shaun initially as I was leaning towards a scooter however he advised due to my condition that would be unsuitable for me and not safe. I tried out u6 second hand which was a lovely chair but I was in need of something bigger. I tried the j19 gold and fell in love. Shaun was fantastic and extremely helpful and guided me through. There was no pressure to buy and he was so helpful in teaching me how to steer safe to say I need a lot of practice lol. The most important thing is that I have my independence back I will be able to go to the shops or take my kids for a walk. Definitely recommend 100% (Facebook-02/07/2019) |

A review from Gary S. Met Sean a couple of weeks ago, after I saw this product. He arranged a demo at my home and went through all about the product, no matter what questions I asked he had the knowledge. I ordered the J10 in electric blue, I was told it would be 3 weeks as it had to be specially made , the wheelchair was here in 2 and 1/2 weeks, Sean set the wheelchair up and made sure I was completely satisfied. I can give them 5***** out of 5 and would recommend them and this chair to anyone, amazing customer service which matches my new chair I now have my independence Thank you Sean (Facebook-02/07/2019) |

A review from Melita S. My wheelchair did me proud today. Could see the hotel from the top if the stratosphere and decided we would come back via pathway. Very uneven in a lot of places but the scooter kept going. Rob found it hard going in some places with his bigger one.(Facebook 14/09/2017) |

A post from Gemma R fundraising :
...I have recently found the perfect chair for me by ‘Better Products for Disabled People’. It has some amazing abilities and for me, it would be incredibly liberating. It can travel over all terrains, from rocky cobbles to smooth inclines of grass! With 5 gears and suspension it can tackle hills at (12 degree?) incline. That would mean no more tired out carers from pushing me up big hills! But overall, what makes this chair the only one for me is its capability to fold away and be stored in the boot of my car whilst the batteries charge inside the house, THAT’S RIGHT IT HAS DETATCHABLE BATTERIES! I can actually charge it in my house this time! (https://www.gofundme.com/gemmas-electric-wheelchair-fundpage- 20/07/2017)

A review from Kathleen W: Best chair I have ever bought... I can now go out with friends and take my chair in their car as it folds so small. (Facebook Better Products page - 11/07/2017) |

Would recommend it to anyone xx These chairs a brilliant I will be getting one in the next couple of weeks, can I make a suggestion to everyone , I couldn't afford to pay straight out for it so started my own crowd funding page on just giving, people have been fantastic and so generous, I only have £200 to get now and I can order my chair, I never thought I would get it so quick, just a thought for all lovely people out there xxx (better products Facebook-06/08/2017) |

A review from Karen S.: Hi just an update, first day without rain since my 06J arrived so I bit the bullet and drove it to work and back again! Found I had to detour some streets as they've no low curbs so I feel a letter coming on to my council lol. That aside the chair did well and I saved on taxi fares. Might be able to take th L plates off next week. ☺️ (30/06/2017-Facebook) |

From- one of our customers reviews The chair is perfect for town centre shopping & is also equally at home on dry grass & lightly gravelled ground. I was also able to order a carry bag for the chair which will help protect it from baggage handlers when I go on holiday. This chair will pay for itself as hiring a chair everytime I go abroad costs about £140 for a week as a scooter would not be appropriate for my needs. To Keep this a balanced review I just want to mention the only niggle I have come across; regular electric wheelchair users will notice that the hand controller is not as responsive as other standard built electric wheelchairs & does take a while to get used to. However, this must be put into context as this is a travel chair, a third of the price of an average chair supplied by the NHS & is a just quarter of the weight. A great buy. (07/08/2016) |

From Robert (stanbrihno)Hello Graham, it's been going really well. One of the connectors for the batteries was bent which was the reason it wouldn't move to begin with. We have tested it across some very bumpy ground and it's been brilliant. Easy to fold to get into the car and admired by many people. It now looks loves and used with a couple of the black caps missing but it's the only one around my city and it's made a world of difference to where I get to go and how independent I can be. It's given me some of the world back to explore. Many thanks x (01/05/2016-ebay) | |

From Emma Major I tried lots of different electric wheelchairs before deciding to ask for a trial of the BPDP10J but all of them had one major drawback, they wouldn't fit in our car, let alone in a smaller car. My goal for the electric wheelchair was to get out and about more with friends in their cars and for work using taxis; but the conventional power chair market had nothing which could help with this. It was the folding aspect of the BPDP10J which appealed to me and made it something worth trying. I emailed BPDJ and spoke to Shaun who said he had a customer who would happily bring his wheelchair to me to try. Within a few days Alan and his wonderful wife arrived at my house with his BPDP10J wheelchair, unloaded it, opened it and invited me to have a spin. I couldn't believe how easy it was for Alan to get the wheelchair out of his car and was amazed by the simple way it opened up ready for use. I had a slow, and then quicker, spin around the close outside my home and was sold almost straight away. My only concern was that the footplate was small and meant I couldn't get my legs comfortable, which I knew would become a major issue with my MS pain. Alan said that BPDP were looking at making larger footplates and I should speak to Shaun, which I did who said he would make it happen for me, no problem at all. I can not overestimate the benefit of speaking to someone like Alan who is also disabled and seeing the chair in action; or the positivity of Shaun at BPDP in every conversation we ever had and the way he completely understood what my issues were and what I needed. I was concerned that I would be getting the first of the newly designed models, but was reassured that they would make sure the chair would be altered to meet my needs. I was safe in their hands. The worst part of the whole experience from enquiry to trial to order to delivery was the wait to get the 10J model; it seemed to take forever to arrive from China and make it through customs. But it was worth the wait, which actually was less than 3 weeks, to have the first of the newest specification models with the larger footplate; it is wonderful. Over the last 3 weeks I have tested the BPDP10J all over the place. I started around the house but quickly decided I needed a larger space to practice my turning skills, especially my reversing. I think this was as much to do with my hand eye coordination, extremely minimal eye sight and confidence than anything. We decided that the best place to go would be our local supermarket and I put a warning on Facebook for everyone so that they knew the yellow peril (Alan named us thus) was on the move. I know the store well and have taken my mobility scooter there quite a few times and therefore this was a good place to compare and contrast as well as try out the BPDP10J maneuverability. Mike and I were both really impressed with how little space it needed in the boot of the car. It could probably fit behind a front seat if no one was in the back, but we haven't tried that out. In the supermarket I was shocked by how much better it could get round obstacles and corners, it literally turns on a penny if I get my hand eye coordination sorted. It can get through much smaller spaces and is much smoother as well as a much more comfortable position, leaving me less tired and therefore more able to cope with the other MS symptoms. The yellow colour did nothing to help people see me, but I've decided that that's as much to do with being lower and disabled people being invisible than anything else. I took the 10J to a garden centre, a local coffee shop, to a restaurant, to the theatre, to a scouting meeting and to church over the next few days and the only problems I encountered were that it doesn't cope so well offroad and that everyone wants a go!! Then this past week we have been on holiday in Lancashire. We were staying in a beautiful cottage in the countryside and we took both the mobility scooter and the BPDP10J. The plan was to use the mobility scooter around the farm and anywhere with offroad type elements; and use the wheelchair everywhere else. Over the week I took it all over Blackpool with great success along the promenade, across tram tracks, down the piers, through arcades and shops and into restaurants; around Manchester city centre and across to the old UMIST campus; to a number of different restaurants where it was always the most comfortable seat in the place; and I even got down to the lamb pens on the farm which I really didn't expect to manage. So, in case you haven't guessed, my verdict is that the BPDP10J is brilliant. It fits in pretty much any car, it goes on for miles and miles, it's really comfortable and easy to use and it looks cool too. I won't use it for a walk in the woods, but pretty much everywhere else it is my wheels of choice. I have received no remuneration for this review, but Better Products for Disabled People have made a £100 donation to the MS Trust in my name. (03/06/2016) Emma's Blog-MS CALLING
